A Country Floral Cascade

Did you all see the new spring issue of Card Maker magazine?? It has a gorgeous floral cascade card on the cover. It inspired me to make this cascading card. Usually I make my cascade cards with three tiers using an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of card stock, but I followed their instructions and used a 12" x 12" piece of card stock to make this a four tier card. The instructions were very good, and I would recommend trying it out. To decorate this card I got to use my new Blossom punch and Mixed Bunch stamp set and Cherry Cobbler ink pad by Stampin' Up! (I bought myself a little treat, shh!) I added some greenery using a Martha Stewart leaves punch and a swirl/flourish die. I added a few squirts of homemade gold glimmer mist. I did use quite a few Distress inks as well, Vintage Photo, Denim Jeans, Broken China and Peeled Paint. Topped it off with some wooden buttons and a bow in my fav new color, champagne. Happy Spring everyone, even though it snowed again today!!

I can't believe it actually folded flat! Hahahaha!!

A Cascade Birthday Card for Mum

I made this crazy cascade card for my Mum's upcoming birthday, and it only took me two whole days!! It's based on a card design by Chris Peterson, www.callalily studio.blogspot.com. Chris made a cascade card featuring two crazy ladies driving home from a shopping spree and when I saw it, I just knew I had to make one for my Mum! The card features my Mum and her dog Mollie driving home from a day of 'retail therapy'. I lost count of how many different stamp sets, punches and dies I used, but I can tell you my craft room is a total disaster! When I showed her the card and told her I was going to put it on my blog, the first thing she said was, "But the whole world will know how old I am"! I told her they will only know if I tell them, and being the good daughter that I am, I'll keep her secret!

Spring/Easter Cascade Card

Good morning everyone! The sun is shining, it's a holiday and I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER!! I made this card this morning, it's called a 'cascade or cascading card', it was quite a challange but now that I know how to put it together I am going to make another one this afternoon! While I was in bed with the flu I spent some time on the internet and came across a Youtube video featuring this card design, the video is titled, "Payper Box How to Make Cascade Cards". I have to warn you that this company is located in England, so the instructions were basically useless as their cardstock sizes are different and the measurements are in cm instead of inches, but I liked the idea and after fiddling with it I came up with my own template. I never did quite get the hang of the whole metric thing!
As this is my first attempt at this card, I can see several areas where improvements are needed and I think it needs 'more stuff' on it! I'll have another go at it and post the results. Have a great Family Day!
