Four Snowmen, One Stamp!

 

 

"Do you guys smell carrots too?" Sorry, just had to do it! Each Christmas, like most card makers, I add to my collection of card designs. This is one of this year's creations.
I originally saw the idea for this card on Youtube in a video by Fran, from Stampendous. The awesome snowman stamp is called, "Stretchy Snowmen", #SSC1057 by Stampendous. When you apply the stamp to your stamping tool you can stretch it to make a tall skinny snowman or 'squish' it to make it short and chubby.
To make this card use an"M" or "W" shaped card base and stamp the snowman progressively taller and you move to the back of the card. The last snowman is stamped on a separate piece of cardstock then cut out and applied to the card. Cut out the first 3 snowmen about halfway down their bodies to reveal the snowman nesting behind it! I own several 'stretchy' stamps from Stampendous and I would give them a 'thumbs up'! and recommend them! Happy Holidays y'all!!

Outlines Triple Christmas Tree Card

My girlfriend gave me a Xyron machine for my birthday this year and I love to use it to apply ultra fine glitter dust. I punched the stars, ran them through the Xyron, which turns what ever you put in it into a sticker, then dipped them into gold glitter dust. The stamp is by Outlines, one of my fav rubber stamp companies. I coloured the trees using Prismacolour pencil crayons then blended with odorless mineral spirits and a cardboard blending stub. A simple, clean card, sometimes that's just what you want! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!

Punch Art Santa Face

I was browsing over at Splitcoast Stampers a while ago and was inspired to create this card. To create the soft colour on his cheeks I used real powder blush and a make up brush. His moustache is half of a die cut butterfly and I made the holly out of ovals after cutting a few 'scoops' out with scissors, then used the tip of my bone folder to create veins. The fur trim is embossed with a swirly embossing plate, I wanted something more subtle so it wouldn't compete with the beard. Everything is better with Stickles, I used Diamond for the fur and red on the holly berries. I love Christmas, and making Christmas cards.... all year round!

Holographic Embossed Snowman Card

This card features a technique I developed recently, embossing a colored stamped image over the entire surface with holographic embossing powder. Die cut a piece watercolor paper with any Spellbinder nesting die, I used Petite Ovals for this card. Stamp image with black Stazon ink, color with pencil crayon, blend with odorless solvent. Place die back over image, then pat Versamark ink all over surface. Remove die, then cover surface with holographic embossing powder, the die prevents the powder from going all the way to the edge and leaves a nice border. Heat with heat gun, be careful not to 'overcook' the powder or it could burn off completely. If this happens, replace die and recover image in more powder and reheat. Cool effect, the picture doesn't show the detail, but it was a hit this Christmas with my fellow card makers!

Stampendous Stretchy Stamps - Mini Snowmen

I love Stampendous stamps! When I bought this snowman set initially I didn't realize that the stamps stretched.  It wasn't until I read the package when I got it home and checked out Stampendous.com that I began to understand just how cool these stretchy stamps are! I decided to make a little zigzag card after seeing a similar card somewhere (if I find the source, I will post it - sorry!). Stamp and colour snowmen and dress them up in their little hats and scarves, I used my Prismas and added stickles. Draw tree shape or use clipart, cut out and run through crimper.

Believe Christmas Card

I found these two stamps at Heather's Stamping Haven in Ottawa,  I think they are both made by Stampendous. For cardbase: A2 size, 4 1/4" x 51/2", used spellbinder nesting ovals to die cut oval window. Stamp 'Believe' with Versamark and emboss with silver tinsel powder, trace stamp for backing twice, enlarge one tracing to create layer.  Stamp Frosty's hat black Stazon twice onto water colour paper. Colour with pencil crayon and odorless mineral spirits, cut out and adhere to first image with low profile adhesive foam dots. Add some punched snowflakes, and of course everything is better with Stickles on it!

Penny Roller/Punch Art Snowman Card

This is such a cute Christmas card and once you learn how to make the penny roller mechanism you can change the card to suit any occasion! Use 1/2" wide x 1/4" thick round foam adhesive dots to make the 'penny sandwich' and cut a slit in the card front slightly wider than the foam dot.  Make slit using an Xacto knife and be sure your blade is sharp.

I made the inner tube for the snowman to ride on out of a circle of black cardstock, sponged a bit of white ink on the edges and covered the whole surface with Diamond Glaze to give it the 'look' of a tire. Weeeee!
